Mint Julep is a charming women's clothing boutique with locations in Brookline and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our neighborhood shops offer a wide selection of clothing, jewelry, and accessories from U.S. and European lines. Each piece is selected with thought and love, so what you’ll browse is a well- edited collection of our favorite items from many different designers.
We take great pride in creating a hospitable place where you will enjoy shopping, discovering new lines, falling in love with a new dress, or just hanging out and chatting with us in a warm and friendly environment. When browsing our online store, we hope that you will feel that same warmth and friendliness from your living room or office.
Carrying collections that fall into all price points and that appeal to a wide variety of ages, Mint Julep is pleased to have something for everyone. Whether it’s a feminine party dress by Nanette Lepore, a printed silk tank by Amanda Uprichard, a pair of jeans by Citizens of Humanity, or a signature handbag by British designer Orla Kiely, you will surely leave Mint Julep with something lovely that you will enjoy for many years.
Mint Julep celebrated 10 amazing years in July 2014. We are beyond grateful for our loyal customers, many of whom have become close friends over the years, and we thank you for supporting our local business!
Brooke Garber and Stephanie Nist met on their junior high school bus somewhere in between their houses in rural Vermont and U-32 Jr.-Sr. High School. College brought Brooke to Boston University while Stephanie began life on the hill at Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
After graduation, the girls entered the corporate world (Brooke in advertising and Stephanie in retail analysis), but lived for the weekends when they could plot their exit to pursue their dream of opening a boutique. When it came time to find a location, their beloved Brookline neighborhood was the perfect choice. Mint Julep opened in July 2004 and expanded to Cambridge in 2006.
In 2008 the girls checked off another item on their bucket lists… living and working in New York City. Mint Julep Lower East Side opened in July of 2008 and was open for five years. During that time, Mint Julep opened a second NYC location in the West Village. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and in 2014 Brooke and Stephanie returned to Boston full time and can be found working in the Brookline and Cambridge shops.
When not at work, the girls, still best friends, enjoy traveling, reading, yapping on the beach, and playing dress up with Brooke’s daughter, Edith.
